Rabbit Goody’s Thistle Hill has been offering commission weaving services to architects and design firms for more than 15 years, ranging from product and design development to production weaving of luxurious fabrics, carpets, window drapery, trims, upholstery and bedding for contemporary interiors. We will source yarns for you or work with your yarns, and then weave custom fabric for your clients and ship it to your workroom.
Current commission projects include eco-friendly deluxe drapery fabrics and specialty fabric for high-end handbags.
Prospective clients are invited to visit our mill and call us to discuss product development. We offer extensive sampling, custom finishing, exclusivity agreements and very personal, confidential service to all of our commission weaving clients. Please contact us for details.
If you are an architect or interior designer and would like to receive samples, please contact us and we will send you a complete packet of swatches and information. To learn more about how we work with designers, you can watch our Power Point presentation.

We had the opportunity to reproduce this wonderful silk for Lorenzo, an historic house in Cazenovia. It is an upholstery fabric used on two side chairs that date from the last quarter of the 19th century. Once we had the pattern we were able to produce this for other historic sites; Liberty Hall in Franklin KY now has a set of chairs in this pattern as well. The fabric is 100% silk woven on our Jacquard loom.
This chenille fabric is a heavy yet soft and drapey wool and rayon chenille fabric for luxury throws and blankets. It is woven in a crepe weave.
This is a very glittery upholstery fabric using pink and ivory plush and our very sparkly gold. These fabrics are designed to accent rooms in pillows and accessories.
A sheer, 100% alpaca fabric used for drapery. Soft and hypoallergenic, it creates a beautiful window treatment.

One of the great pleasures that we have at Thistle Hill Weavers is to work closely with fiber producers and clothing designers. Franny Kansteiner of Gum Tree Farm is both!
We met Franny here when she came to visit our mill with some samples of her yarn, images of her clothing, and her ideas. Typically we spend several hours with new clients to develop the best possible products from their fiber. Franny was ready to get into production with her ideas and this is the first of several fabrics from her sheep.
Gum tree Farm has been producing quality merino fiber and wool products for several years but having custom woven goods with quality finishes is often hard to come by in the US. There are very few mills willing to work with small fiber producers and we enjoy developing interesting fabrics. We can’t wait to see Gum Tree Farm’s next projects made from the natural wool that we are working on now.
