Table Runner in Figured Worsted Wool
Figured worsteds were part of the soft furnishings that made an interior warm and comfortable. We have been reproducing many of the figured worsted pattern from weavers’ draft books that have survived in England, Germany, and America. Thomas Jackson’s draft book begins in 1689 and goes through three generations of weavers. We love reproducing patterns from draft books as it gives us the best touchstone to the past.
The patterns are small diamond repeats that are often referred to as “diapers”. Here is a worsted wool table runner in a beautiful blue and green reversible fabric that Thomas Jackson referred to as Hearts and Diamonds.
What could be more precious that hearts combined with diamonds for dressing up a fancy table or a country kitchen?
